Your Job in a Nutshell:
We're on the lookout for an Automation Supervisor to lead our team of tech-savvy wizards, both on-site and remotely, ensuring the smooth operation of automated conveyor systems in multiple distribution centers. If you've got the knack for managing a 24/7 environment, troubleshooting like a pro, and leading a fantastic team, read on!
Your Mission:
- Take charge and lead a team of 5-6 Automation Technicians, providing direction to outside contractors like a seasoned conductor leading an orchestra.
- Ensure your team hits all the right notes through coaching, feedback, and hands-on leadership.
- Get creative with preventive maintenance programs and drive the implementation of our CMMS program.
- Tackle breakdowns head-on by developing and implementing innovative solutions for processes and systems.
- Be the captain of continuous improvement projects and steer the ship through cross-functional capital projects, from implementation to testing.
- Dive into ladder logic, components, and communication modules troubleshooting, and make sure your team can do the same.
- Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization, fostering a collaborative and vibrant work environment.
Your Arsenal of Skills:
- A deep understanding of maintaining automated conveyor systems and controls, with a knack for preventive maintenance procedures.
- Proficiency in PLC programs, especially Siemens S7 and/or Allen Bradley; Siemens PLC’s step 5 & 7 are your preferred instruments.
- A wizard at reading electrical blueprints and schematics.
- Familiarity with CMMS programs and their implementation is your forte.
- Bonus points if you're familiar with Beaumer, Van Der Lande, NPI, Honeywell conveyor systems, and Fluence/SNS automated encoding systems.
- You're not just about fixing things; you understand the metrics behind equipment performance.
- The ability to juggle multiple tasks, deal with ambiguity, and stay cool under pressure.
- Networking skills that would make a social butterfly jealous.
- Experience in enforcing health & safety standards and regulations is second nature to you.
Your Backstory:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation) and a minimum of two years hands-on experience in maintaining an automated distribution center, or an equivalent combination of education and manufacturing environment experience.
- Preferably, you've led a team in a large warehousing facility.
- Extra points if you're experienced in sortation machines and have a knack for configuring bar code scanners and print-and-apply machines.

- You'll be exposed to the warehouse world – cold, hot, changing temperatures, medium-level noise (no earplugs required), dust, dirt, and lighting changes.
- Flex those muscles – push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. (you might get a little help).
- Wander through the warehouse like a boss, keeping a watchful eye on your team.
- Pack your bags – you'll travel 30% of the time to distribution centers across the US.
- Be ready for action – work any shift and be on call for emergencies, covering the automation deck across the network.
