Job Title: Surgical Technology Instructor (Per Diem, Remote Preferred for New Jersey or PA Residents)
Job Description: We are accepting resumes for a qualified Surgical Technology Instructor to lead and manage students, and direct learning activities in a hybrid and/or virtual environment. This per diem instructional position is for a day schedule with a preference for those available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, with potential opportunities for evening schedules from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The position begins immediately.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage students in hybrid and/or virtual settings.
- Facilitate student learning and evaluate progress in both virtual classroom and mock surgical labs.
- Provide didactic and clinical teaching experiences to prepare students in surgical technology.
- Design and deliver instructional plans to meet course competencies, develop activities to support lesson objectives, and deliver approved instruction.
- Establish a learning-centered environment conducive to student involvement and success.
- Potential for additional hours to serve as a preceptor, provide weekly telephone on-call hours for student clinicals, and assist with practical rotations, including gowning, donning, and gloving prior to clinical internships.
- Use LMS or Teams platform effectively and be familiar with Office 365.
- Take and record grades, administer quizzes, and prepare for classes with a professional demeanor.
- Utilize computers and be comfortable with desktop or laptop use, including using a camera for online learning and maintaining it on during sessions with students.
- Maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions and conduct.
Requirements:
- Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
- Minimum of four (4) years of operating room experience.
- Strong proficiency in English.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and oral presentation skills.
- Professional demeanor, appearance, and attitude.
- Ability to provide diversified learning experiences to accommodate different learning styles.
- Familiarity with LMS or Teams platform, Office 365, and comfortable with computer use for online learning.
- Demonstrated ability to align with the organization's mission, vision, and values to achieve a culture of excellence.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist/Scrub Technologist.
- Enthusiastic and optimistic with a strong desire to help others achieve their personal goals.
