SUMMARY
Protects and enhances the rights of the individuals in the program. Coordinates and manages the Lifeworks transportation system as assigned. Maintains effective communication with residential providers, families and MART. Complies with all principles of Human Rights, D.P.P.C., Department of Developmental Services, the Division of Medical Assistance and all other applicable funding regulations as adhered to by Lifeworks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manage and ensure successful completion of the daily transportation operations, provides regular supervision of drivers, including the weekly driving schedule for each driver.
Coordinates and conducts driver's meetings as scheduled. Provide staff with hands-on orientation/training for proper and safe van operation.
Coordinates and oversees daily vehicle assignments and availability for CBDS activities and employment opportunities.
Coordinates and updates daily route schedules for Transportation Dept.
Provides orientation, support, and follow-up to driving staff regarding vehicle operation. Provides wheelchair securement training to applicable Lifeworks staff.
Assists in the daily transport of individuals to and from their jobs as needed. Serves as backup driver when applicable.
Navigate transportation/fleet management software regarding vehicle maintenance and tracking. Monitor vehicle electronic tracking system on a regular basis for efficient and safe use of vehicles, onboard diagnostics, emergencies, and alerts/recall notices. Aid in coordination of regular maintenance of Lifeworks fleet vehicles.
Aids in coordination and completion of required MART documentation. When necessary, liaison and resolve transportation issues with individuals, family/residential staff, DD service coordinators and contracted transportation vendors.
In the absence of the Director of Transportation, will fulfill necessary administrative and programmatic responsibilities.
All drivers are responsible for the safety and supervision of individuals being transported. Drivers are required to ensure all passengers utilize seat belts and adhere to safety protocols while being transported. Secures passenger wheelchairs to secured devices to stabilize wheelchairs for transport.
Regularly attend all necessary meetings including program staff meetings and related in service trainings.
Education and/or experience
High school diploma. Five years related experience, including two years of supervisory experience.
