We are seeking a Business Development Manager for our Aviation segment. The successful candidate will report to our Atlanta offices, however, can be located anywhere in the US.
Reporting to the VP, Sales and Marketing, this position will pursue projects and cultivate relationships to grow existing accounts and acquire new business in the Aviation and Space segments.
Responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to:
- Develop customer relationships (internal and external)
- Maximize sales through the optimization of sales and marketing strategies that deliver on combined measures of profit and volume
- Identify potential partnerships or teaming opportunities within these segments
- Working with the Marketing Department, provide market research and analyze business climate, industry trends and competitors
- Follow up on leads in a timely manner and respond promptly to bid opportunities
- Ensure customer expectations are met and continuous customer service is provided to internal and external customers
- Communicate product improvements and recommendations that originate in the field to the Engineering Team
- Minimize and resolve customer issues and ensure all quality issues are communicated to the Quality Department
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
Requirements:
- University degree or College diploma in a Business-related field and equivalent work experience in a sales environment
- 7 years’ experience (accounts and people), preferably in the aviation and/or Space market
- A technical aptitude with an ability to understand and interpret test data, certifications, and drawings
- Understanding of business negotiations
- Ability to recognize opportunities to promote and act upon
- Demonstrated ability to prospect
- Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
