U.S. Submergent Technologies (USST) is the premier service provider for restoring the capacity of wet infrastructure. Specializing in submergent cleaning of sand, grit, and debris from hard-to-clean environments, USST operates in a variety of industries including wastewater/stormwater, oil and gas, power plants and more.
Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, USST is seeking to add qualified Field Laborers to its operations team. Field Laborers are primarily responsible for completing physically demanding daily field labor work in a safe and compliant manner as well as being highly motivated individuals with an excellent work ethic.
Main Duties:
- Train in the basic understanding of the USST Combination3® truck and GritGone ProcessSM as well other technologies.
- Successfully complete safety training as provided by USST to become an expert in recognizing potential onsite safety hazards through communication and reporting.
- Properly employ personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times while on job site.
- Exhibit a positive attitude and maintain a spirit of cooperation and teamwork at all times with other crew members, supervisors, coworkers and clients.
- Must be willing and able to travel for several days at a time, spend overnights in company provided hotels during the week when required on out of town job assignments; overtime is not guaranteed but can be expected on occasion.
- Must be willing and able to perform all labor intensive duties and tasks as assigned by superintendents, which includes work that is considered very physically demanding and labor intensive in outdoor heat conditions.
- Must be willing and able to lift and carry heavy hoses and other field equipment for job set up, break down and completion of daily job duties.
- Clean and wash down all equipment on job site.
- Shut down equipment quickly and safely if needed in an emergency situation.
- Shovel and squeegee wastewater material and debris in wastewater tanks.
- Removal of debris from tanks and pipes.
- Organize company trailers and toolboxes.
Skills & Experience:
- Familiarity of the wastewater/stormwater, oil and gas, or power plant and other industries is not required, but is a plus
- Understands and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures
- Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervisors
- Must be professional and a strong team player
- Must have a valid Drivers License and clean driving record with a minimum of no less than two years of driving experience, with no accidents, suspensions, disqualifications or points
- Minimum of at least 2-years of experience in a physical labor intensive position and heavy equipment operation
- Confined Space Entry Certification (course provided by company, experience preferred but not required)
- Must be willing and able to pass a pre-employment drug test screening and a criminal background check
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older as required by our auto insurance company to be an approved driver on our company policy
- High school diploma, or its equivalent
Physical/Labor Intensive Demands:
- Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 80-pounds or more
- Must be Physically able to work 8 to 12 hours per day outside in a variety of extreme environment/weather conditions
- Must be able to bend, climb, stoop, crawl, kneel, or crouch and exhibit normal range of body motion
- Must be willing and able to work in confined spaces following OSHA requirements and near moving mechanical parts
- Must be willing and able to safely operate heavy equipment control levers
