Summary of Job Duties
The Installation Technician is responsible for overseeing the installation process, operation and maintenance of the VOX evaporators and the associated equipment and the overall successful installation and start-up of the VOX units on a new pad for hand-off for daily operations. This position is the eyes and ears for operations management and requires excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Primary work environment is outdoor, on pad and will require the candidate to work alongside customers’ field operations teams and represent EWS in a positive and professional manner. This position will travel regionally and at times to other oil basins across the USA.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manages the on-site installation of VOX units – coordinating with EWS leadership, customer contacts, and external contractors.
- Support Field Operations Technicians in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical equipment issues, as well as the processes related to the issues.
- Coordinate and partner with external contractors on site to ensure materials are correct and build is accurate to drawings.
- Coordinate and partner with electrical contractors to complete piping and wiring from customer site to EWS equipment.
- Ensure proper execution of safety controls and communicate with contractors to successfully terminate controls and ensure proper working conditions.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of controls and safety settings to commission equipment and ensure all safety settings are adjusted accordingly on a site/unit-specific basis.
- Uses measurement data system to analyze sample data and review meter test reports and prove reports, perform trend analysis and volume comparisons.
- Validates the accuracy of measurement data – pressure, flow, and temperature - and assists in the resolution of balance discrepancies and anomalies.
- Responds to emergency situations and/or incidents, as appropriate.
- Assists in the completion of incident investigation and preparation of Incident Reports and Root Cause Analysis Reports (as needed) and assist in the development of corrective actions and oversee their implementation.
- Ensure company vehicles are properly maintained for safety, appearance, and mechanical longevity.
- Always represent EWS as a professional in appearance and demeanor, even when not “on the clock”.
- Attends client meetings and industry conferences/work groups (as required) to keep abreast of industry and customer- standard and emerging policies and trend to maintain Operational/safety compliance.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Electrical Automation Experience, with an advanced understanding of instrument & electrical controls theory with the ability to troubleshoot any issues.
- Working/proven knowledge of oil and gas industry, specifically working knowledge of upstream operations and water management.
- Strong ability to teach, demonstrate, and transfer electrical and mechanical knowledge of equipment.
- Ability to manage field installations and work with customers on technical details required for equipment setup.
- Ability to train employees on troubleshooting processes and explain how the solution was found.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, with proficient ability to interpret electrical, mechanical, and piping schematics.
- Takes ownership and accountability of equipment and operations on assigned site(s).
- Basic knowledge of federal and state regulations (OSHA, EPA, PADEP).
- Self-starter - must be comfortable working autonomously and with direction. Highly productive in a dynamic, fast- paced environment where priorities may shift rapidly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work successfully individually as well as with a wide variety of people at different levels within and outside the organization.
- Ability to keep company propriety information confidential.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals, and engineered drawings.
- Flexibility around work schedule and overnight travel required up to 75%
Physical/Mental Requirements:
The employee must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes FR clothing, hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.

- Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another, which may be of varying heights and access parameters.
- Standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, squatting, climbing, crawling, or sitting for long periods of time.
- Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work.
- Climbing stairs, and/or vertical ladders of varying heights.
- Working in confined work areas and/or elevated heights.
- Lifting objects of minimum of 10lbs, with maximum single-person lift limit of 75bs, with frequent lifting and carrying.
- Adapting to temperature changes, outdoor conditions, and prolonged exposure to dusty, wet, or humid conditions, loud noises, and vibration.
- Visually inspecting equipment and verifying information, often in small print.
- Driving and/or operating heavy machinery safely and must be always alert and aware of surroundings.
- Applying sideways/upward/downward pressure to tighten and loosen hardware.

Education/Training:
- Associate degree or other relevant technical certification or training in Electrical Automation Controls preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years' related experience in oil and gas industry, with prior experience in a similar role involving working knowledge of Electrical Automation Controls preferred.
- Mechanical/electrical experience, including advanced understanding of instrument & electrical controls theory.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Forklift Operation Certification Preferred
- Prior team leadership experience.
