The Roth family has been growing berries locally in Salem, Oregon for three generations and their fruit is still used in our products today. We quickly expanded from fruit processing to pie manufacturing to now a full line of premium, scratch made, all-natural desserts. Summary
Our Quality Control Supervisor is passionate about finding the smallest details in quality and works arduously to resolve those gaps. You will be the gatekeeper for our high-quality standards and will ensure that at every point in the manufacturing process our standards of the world’s greatest pie company are upheld! You will make it your mission to spend your day seeking continuous product improvement and communicating these findings to peers and leaders. The intricacies of this job description will likely seem like a long, running list of acronyms. To summarize, you’ll be our continuous improvement champion and the voice of quality for our organization, ensuring that every one of our decisions aligns with our commitment to deliver the highest quality and safest products on the market.
What You’ll Do:
Leadership
- 80% of shift on the production floor reviewing quality and partnering with leaders to improve quality
- Work side-by-side with Quality Assurance to strategically find quality improvements using data driven reporting
- Present data driven improvements through presentations in person or virtually
- Drive & implement systems and process improvement working alongside other teams
- Problem Solving on an interdisciplinary team.
Quality Systems
- Identify, lead and facilitate broad based product Quality & Food Safety programs.
- Ensure regulatory standards (FDA, State Health Departments), third party food safety standards, and GFSI programs (SQF Level 2) are effectively implemented, maintained, and continuously improved.
- Define and measure product attributes against a consumer Gold Standard including sensory.
- Develop Quality Loops that provide actionable data to the operations team.
- Help manage the document control database. Maintaining the document register and informing document owners of review timeframes. Manages finished product label database and creation.
- Participate in raw materials and finished goods hold/release system
- Help develops trend analysis for Quality Department KPI’s for continuous improvement solutions
Process Controls/Continuous Improvement
- Lead and coach other leaders on effective use of Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Help asses non-conformance & corrective action follow up process.
Skills, Requirements and Minimum Education Level
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science/Food Technology or related field is required; (experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
- 2+ years in quality, continuous improvement and/or food science (baking industry preferred)
- Preferred: FSMA PCQI Certification (iso 9001 or other certifications preferred)

Salary
$55,000.00 - $65,000.00
Work Environment
Business casual environment. Maintain a business professional appearance during external meetings.
Physical Demands
Must maintain a valid US-state based driver’s license.
Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
