The Principal Electrical Design Engineer will define the system architecture, specification, design, development, and testing for both energy storage and mobility applications. The position will require an overall system perspective and detailed design experience with cross-functional input.
Responsibilities:
•Lead the definition and development of system architectures for next generation of Energy Storage Systems and mobility products.
•Serve as the technical lead for electrical subsystems on complex development projects with ownership of subsystem designs down to the board level.
•Lead the development and implementation of subsystem designs, directing the development activities as needed to drive their completion.
•Collaborate with other team members to define the technology roadmap for current and future products.
•Identify product requirements to create novel system architectures to meet those requirements.
•Develop detailed product and subsystem specifications based on product requirements for system level design, operation, and controls.
•Lead regulatory compliance testing and validation.
•Lead proper system documentation including system theory of operation, validation test documentation, etc.
•Create test engineering and validation plans to ensure proper implementation.
•Lead system integration and validation test activities for engineering development, establishing test methods and verification tools.
•Support prototype system builds to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
•Develops organizational due diligence to ensure proper design best practices.
•Lead root cause and failure analysis for overall system performance.
Position Qualifications:
•Bachelor of Science, Electrical Engineering
•Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical system design or ten (10) years with demonstrated experience developing a product from concept through production on a multidiscipline project with complex systems.
•Intimate knowledge and experience with the product design process, validation testing, and documentation.
•Expertise in electrical design best practices, including circuit design, component selection, circuit protections, and PCB layout.
•Proficient reading schematics and using electrical hardware design tools for analysis, simulation, engineering calculations, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $170,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
