Oberlin Food Hub (now located in Cleveland!) is seeking a motivated Driver who is ready to apply knowledge and experience to weekly delivery routes in Cleveland, Akron, Wooster, and Columbus. The Driver will be responsible for daily pre-trip inspection, mileage logs, other safety logs, handling a complex route with multiple deliveries, being flexible to new projects as they arise, and any other tasks related to logistics and operations as determined by the Director and Operations Manager. The driver will be the face of Oberlin Food Hub when picking up from our vendors and delivering to our new and longtime customers! The role of the driver is to successfully deliver products to locations determined by daily routes, pick up any items we’ve ordered, and return the vehicle and items to the Oberlin Food Hub.

Hours: Full-time hourly, average of 32-40 hours per week
Schedule: Varies weekly, roughly: Tues 7-1, Weds 7-5, Thurs 7-5, Fri 7-1
Compensation: starting at $20/hour, pay commensurate with experience

Duties and Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record and experience in driving large vehicles/trucks
- Operation of a 26-foot refrigerated box truck and a delivery van, as needed
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and drive for extended periods
- Performing daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining a clean and sanitary vehicle
- Performing Hub receiving protocol on food picked up on route
- Communicating with store receiving teams and buyers for delivery, primarily texts and phone calls
- Maintaining records of signed invoices to return to the Hub, as well as accepting payments from customers in the form of checks.
- Participation in team meetings as needed and on the job trainings in food safety and handling
- Ability to follow written route instructions and specific delivery instructions
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Strong visual-spatial skills for vehicle loading
- Strong verbal communication, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with GPS or mapping app
- Friendly disposition to engage with suppliers and customers
Note: CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is NOT required for the operation of our vehicles. Experience in driving large vehicles/trucks is a must.
