Assistant Baker - 23 -25 hours/ 5 day workweek, morning hours
Experience in a commercial setting with bread, bagels, pizza dough or other yeasted dough necessary.
Job requires lifting of 50lbs at a time, and standing for 3 hours at a time.
Will be working under the direction of the owner/head baker. Communication with owner is very important. Review after the first two weeks. Review again after four weeks. Opportunity for growth.
Work with lead baker to learn techniques to produce consistent quality product.
Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients, and processing and shaping the dough.
Must Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes. Must Maintain food safety and sanitation standards, Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils.
Schedule as Follows:
Mon - off
Tues - off
Wed - 8am-11am (shaping, mixing dough, clean up) (3 hours)
Thur- 6am-11am/ 12pm (topping/baking, shaping, mixing dough, clean up) (5/6 hours)
Fri - 6am-11am/12pm (topping/baking, shaping, mixing dough clean up) (5/6 hours)
Sat - 6am-11am/12pm (topping/baking, shaping, clean up) (5/6 hours)
Sun - 6-11am/12pm (topping/baking, clean up, update bakery inventory for following week) (5/6 hours)
Able to adjust to fast paced environment, remain, calm, seek direction when necessary, yet be self-motivated. Cleaning up your workstation throughout the day is imperative.
Food-safety certification is preferred, but not necessary
If baking responsibilities are completed, you may be asked to assist front of the house sandwich makers, as needed, assisting kitchen staff as needed.
