POSITION SUMMARY
The Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Clinical (LCSW-C) is responsible for providing professional therapy to patients and families including direct therapeutic services, crisis intervention, and coordination of community services/resources. Performance of duties may be autonomous and self-directed as part of an interdisciplinary team. This position reports to the Department Head of Mental Health.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Achieve Results
· Works under the direct supervision of the Director of Mental Health to provide high quality mental health services.
· Conducts comprehensive, culturally sensitive bio-psychosocial assessments, develops treatment plans, and provides therapy and crisis intervention services to individuals and families.
· Provides information and education about mental health issues to individual patients and to families.
· Documents assessment, diagnostic intervention, and treatment data in medical record as indicated by COMAR.
· Provide support to area school systems with recommendations and attend IFSP, IEP, ARD meetings as needed.

· Ensure all performance improvement activities are managed and performed according to regulatory and accreditation standards, corporate policies, and related measures.
· Demonstrates competency in practice and knowledge of current standards of practice. Maintains credentials and performs current practice expectations within established guidelines.

· Develop and maintain collaborative internal relationships and partnerships with co-workers, psychiatrists and office staff.
· Develop and maintain favorable external relationships with vendors, contractors, and related resources.

PRIMARY TASKS AND DUTIES
- Conducts comprehensive, culturally sensitive bio-psychosocial assessments, develops treatment plans, and provides therapy and crisis intervention services to patients and families and complete all clinical interventions as directed.
- Participates in team meetings and participates in Peer Review, continually improving care based on results.
- Develops, evaluates, updates and/or monitors treatment plans for own caseload.
- Assist in maintaining patient pre-authorizations, completing treatment plans in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for accurate, timely communication with the support staff and other clinical staff to maintain high quality services, accurate schedules and clinical records.
- Participates with office on-call schedule.
- All other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of professional counseling principles, methodology, and ethics and of human psychosocial development within the family, community, and culture.
- Familiarity with brief therapy theories/techniques and therapeutic process. Understanding of techniques for facilitating client motivation to change behavior.
- Knowledge of health and social issues impacting diverse clients and their well-being.
- Possess skills in crisis intervention, client advocacy, case management and evidence base treatment
- Ability to interact effectively as member of interdisciplinary health care team, identify and utilize community resources and communicate appropriately with diverse patient population.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
· Graduate of an approved Master’s program in social work and successful completion of internship.
· Licensed in the State of Maryland as an LCSW-C.
Experience
· 3 or more years experience in health care setting
