Job Summary:
Analyzes, researches, and makes recommendations regarding the organization's patient billing, collection, and accounting practices. Provides guidance to assigned team, assigns resources, monitors work, develops and administers schedules, and oversees achievement of performance requirements. Assists with determining the methods and procedures on new assignments.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Five years' relevant experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Develops and implements key compliance measures to evaluate the department's billing, collection, posting, refund, and accounting practices. Provides guidance to staff within the latitude of established work area and policies. Works on assignments that are considerably difficult requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. Works with sensitive and confidential information, often involving the interpretation of policies and procedures to guide use.
- Works with payers, insurers, and clinicians to ensure the payability of claims.
- Performs root cause analysis and collaborates on the development, implementation, and evaluation of corrective action plans based on analysis.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
