Looking to further-strengthen our Engineering team, Teufelberger Fiber Rope Corp is seeking an Industrial Engineer to fill this full-time position. Key focus is to proactively pursue continuous cost-out initiatives for our products, based on LEAN production standards. Value Stream Analysis along our value streams for production of fiber ropes, and definition and implementation of end-to-end production process improvement are part of the objectives. Resolve major technical challenges to support gains for our rope-related technology and general rope-product engineering. The successful candidate will bring a breadth of skills and knowledge in support of our manufacturing processes and product development processes in general.
This on-site role is located in Fall River, MA and provides a stepping-stone to further development, including mid- to long-term potential for taking on management responsibility within the Engineering team of Teufelberger Fiber Rope Corporation in the US.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities
· Lead process and production improvement and cost-out projects
· Lead Value Stream Analysis and advanced process designs workshops
· Facilitate workshops with shop-floor teams to identify process improvement potentials
· Implement shop-floor management standards
· Participate/lead shop-floor management meetings and train shop floor personnel to do so
· Provide timely and effective technical support to manufacturing cells maintaining quality and throughput
· Provide continuous training and technical support to Supervisors and Planners (LEAN methodology)
· Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain and Planning to:
· Develop processes and implementation of e.g. Kanban, Supermarket
· Overall production material supply concepts (raw, halb, finished goods)
· Support Material Master Data maintenance and other SAP-related data
Product Development Support
· Support R&D projects in cooperation with local/regional and global development teams to allow for design-to-produce feasibility
· Coordinate with R&D projects in alignment with local Market Managers on product requirements with impact to production technology and standards
Additional Responsibilities
· Facilitate benchmark and alignment for industrial engineering and production standards within Teufelberger global production network
· Advocate end-to-end business and process view with Teufelberger production and engineering teams
· Promote continuous improvement culture along Teufelberger key performance indicators for Quality, Cost, On-time Delivery and People Excellence.
· Opportunity to attain a lean green belt-level certification through inhouse training (if applicable)
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field
· Minimum of at least 3-5 years' experience in similar position
· Strong, proven LEAN background with hands-on experience
· Shop floor experience and production process knowledge in at least one manufacturing industry
· Practical SAP knowledge for production and material related transactions (or alternative ERP system)
· Project and people management experience as part of LEAN project implementation
· Domestic and international travel required (5-10% domestic; potentially 1-2 p.a. Europe)
· Demonstrated competence/experience required in Lean Manufacturing Methods (Value Stream Mapping/Design, Shopfloor Management, 5S, Kaizen, Poka-yoke, etc.)
· Experience in any /all of the following areas is preferred:

· Ability to present technical content
· ISO 9001:2015 Standards (CAR, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, etc.)
