Thomas Precision has been a leading manufacturer of parts and service to the food processing industry since 1981. Headquartered in Rice Lake, WI, we are seeking a Remote Customer Service Technician to join our team at our new Bastrop LA facility.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support to our clients. Working closely with our Regional Sales Manager, this role involves resolving customer inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues, providing installation support and promoting additional services.
Please note that this is a technical position that requires hands on repair of industrial equipment as well as customer support. This is position is hybrid on the road and in office at our Bastrop location.
Duties:
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email
- Provides delivery, sales or installation of needed parts at customer location
- Assists or performs training to customers on maintenance and parts installation
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance in the field
- Conduct outbound calls to follow up on customer issues or promotions
- Analyze customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
- Communicate effectively with customers to ensure satisfaction
Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude. Experience in machinery repair a plus
- Will be required to work in wet, cold food processing plan environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong aptitude on the computer for quoting, corresponding and audit reports
- Ability to analyze customer needs and provide suitable solutions
- Willingness to travel up to 50% including nights and weekends, sometimes with little or no notice- More travel may be needed dependent on workload
Qualifications
- Proven knowledge of how to maintain, repair, diagnose and correctly install or replace equipment and machinery
- Experience in food processing environment helpful
