JOB TITLE: Secretary-Curriculum

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Curriculum Secretary will organize and manage the routine work activities of designated office and provide clerical support.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:

High School/GED from an accredited institution
-
1 year job related experience
Preferred:
-
Three years secretarial experience
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
-
Effective projection of positive image in person as well as on the telephone
-
Effective communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written)

Advanced computer skills with Microsoft office excel, power-point and word as well as graphics and data entry

Ability to critically organize large quantities of materials and manage multiple task

Organizational skills in planning, goal setting, prioritizing

Adaptable to change in advancing computer programs

Ability to work independently
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Prepare correspondence, forms, reports and professional documents and for designated administrator.

Maintain physical and computerized departmental files.

Assist with the preparation of purchase orders and payment authorization.

Answer incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.

Maintain a schedule of appointments and make travel arrangements.
-
Maintain confidentiality of information.
-
Prepare documents to communicate information to staff, parents, students, and district personnel.

Perform other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: ability to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment efficiently and effectively with frequent interruptions. Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting, reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Ability to maintain emotional control under stress. Overtime is required as necessary.
