Objective: To assist in the daily operation and organization of the Attendance Office
Training & Qualifications:
- High school diploma and postsecondary degree or related work experience preferred
- Computer skills required, with some knowledge of databases
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required, knowledge of Outlook and Publisher preferred
- Established and proficient ability to multi-task
- Attention to detail and precision with all tasks
- Efficient, accommodating demeanor
- Ability to effectively work with staff, students and parents
- Willingness to assume additional duties during high demands
- Effective at working under pressure
- Strong communication skills, and strong customer service skills
- Desire to serve students and teachers
Supervised By: Assigned Assistant Principal
General Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to all patron types
- Verify every absence reported
- Record notices from the parent reporting absent students
- Daily phone calls to report to the parent that student is not in school
- Notify students at warning levels regarding absences and tardies
- Notify parents at warning levels with phone call/letter regarding absences and tardies
- Notify teachers of a student’s planned absence
- Arrange for early student dismissals as required
- Schedule students to see their Assistant Principal as needed
- Mail all discipline notices to the parent
- Enter all discipline information into Skyward including all attendance warnings
- Notify teachers of scheduled student Alternative Classroom (ACR) assignments
- Collect homework for students when requested by parent
- Report to the County Probation Officer regarding students as required
- Participate in work-related support training and activities
- Other responsibilities specific to the Assistant Principal to which the Attendance Secretary is assigned
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the administration
