REPORTS TO: VP of Clinical Programs, L.A. Region East
HOURS: 40 hrs/week
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
SUMMARY: The Clinical Development Manager is responsible for coordination and oversight of training and continuing education for Services staff at the Agency. The Clinical Development Manager will oversee the Student Intern Program and act as liaison with the educational institutions in each Region to ensure clinical internship placement needs for the Programs are covered. This position will oversee the Individual Group and Supervision of license eligible staff and act as liaison with Statewide regulatory bodies (BBS, etc.) to ensure that accrual of hours towards licensure, training requirements and Clinical Supervision needs are met in each Region.
DUTIES: The following reflects essential functions for this job but does not restrict other tasks, which may be assigned:
Leadership, Administration, Oversight
Training:
·Identify external training providers for needed content and circulate any relevant training opportunities from outside the organization.
·Serve as a subject matter expert to support the identification, development, and implementation of clinical training to direct service teams.
· Work with LMS Coordinator to ensure all trainings and subsequent materials are uploaded and published on the LMS, including training agreements, course evaluations, and certificate of completions.
· Update training policies and procedures and training agreements, as needed.
· Manage accounts for current training subscriptions and supportive applications (i.e., Convene Training, Nonprofit Learning Lab, Canva, and Monday.com).
· Maintain CEU Provider status within each Region.
Student Intern Program
·Oversee all aspects of student intern placement including interviews program matching, design and implementation of orientation and monthly student seminar, and serving as point of contact between agency and school within each Region.
· Maintain updated agreements and MOUs with universities.
· Initiate and provide oversight of student interview process and program matching for each Region.
· Act as liaison between the agency and university for any issues that may arise during student’s placement.
Supervision
· Coordinate with Regional Directors to oversee clinical supervision assignment & compliance with Regional State requirements for license eligible staff.
· Maintain up to date knowledge of Regional State licensing requirements and disseminate information to staff, Managers and Clinical Supervisors.
Direct Service and Support
Training:
· Provide clinical training to direct service teams utilizing asynchronous and live formats.
·Identify additional clinical training needs and have oversight of the following: assigned subject matter expert/trainer, methods of instruction, distribution, and evaluation methods.
·Coordinate oversight with Regional Program Assistants to support training needs for non-clinical staff.
Student Intern Program
·Ensure all students are linked to appropriate orientation and onboarding training and ongoing monthly student seminar.
· Working with Regional management, determine assigned Field Instructors and ensure FIs have completed necessary training. Support FIs with any supervision needs/consultation, as well as ensuring students are meeting social work competencies.
· Work with Program Managers and Directors to determine placement needs and communicate to schools accordingly.
Supervision
·Provide individual and group supervision, as needed.
·Facilitate monthly Supervisor Consultation Group.
·Facilitate Monthly Lead Supervision Group and Manager Supervision (Consultation?) Group
SKILLS: Microsoft Suite (Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint) and familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications (SharePoint, Teams). This position requires the ability to identify problems, patterns, and make the required corrections as well as reporting information as required. This position requires excellent detail orientation and ability to multi-task on multiple ongoing and time sensitive projects/duties.
QUALIFICATIONS: (Education & Experience) Licensed in California and registered with BBS. Masters in Psychology or Social Work with at least 2 years post licensure and clinical supervision experience. Experience in program development. Preferred relevant knowledge specific to the Step Up on Second client population ranging from Veterans, Homeless, and persons with Severe Mental Illness.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION: Work with people experiencing homelessness whether on the streets, in shelters or other places of habitation or services, may present inherent challenges and difficulties such as: exposure to bed bugs or other infestations, unpleasant smells or odors, individuals who may have poor hygiene or unclean homes due to homelessness, mental health symptoms, or poverty. Additionally, in working with our members, employees may encounter instances of profanity, sexually explicit or derogatory language, or verbal or physical expressions of anger and trauma. Very rarely do these situations ever escalate to physical contact, and negative or derogatory communication patterns can often be negotiated successfully. All direct care staff are provided adequate training to develop skills to deescalate crisis situations that may arise and Step Up has established procedural safeguards for all employees to mitigate (but not eliminate) these inherent risks of employment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, balance, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Keyboard data entry required.
