Job Title: Utility Customer Service Clerk
Job Status: Full – Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Travel Required: Occasional for training
POSITION SUMMARY
Reports to the Finance Officer and is responsible for the collection and the proper disposition
of utility funds received by this employee. Acts as a receptionist and customer service
representative.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
• Data processing and typing accuracy are essential.
- Employees must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Applicants must pass a drug screening and background check.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Processes payments for billing and open records
- Create service address as needed
- Ensure paperwork and deposits are collect to open accounts for citizens
- Adjust/ Follow up with any adjustments on accounts as needed
- Receives request from the public and generate work orders to the Public Works Department
- Answers citizens inquiries and directs them to the appropriate party
( • Process and generate bills for billing on monthly basis
- Process weekly report for shut off
- Performs other related duties and requested or required
- Keep up with daily cash drawer
MENTAL DEMAND
Position requires extremely good communication ability. Ability to handle several
responsibilities and tasks at one time and be able to prioritize those tasks. Requires
organizational skills with attention to detail. Must have good verbal and written skills and be
able to work well with others while maintaining a professional attitude.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
Four (4) years previous experience in general office operations, any equivalent combination of
education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities
for this job.
