The Maintenance Manager oversees and coordinates the maintenance team, guiding and supporting them while managing activities related to equipment, facilities, and operational support. This role focuses on enhancing lean manufacturing techniques, developing comprehensive troubleshooting skills plant-wide, managing the parts inventory using a min/max system based on historical data, and improving the preventative maintenance system to minimize downtime and boost productivity.
Responsibilities

Conduct daily communication meetings for the maintenance team to coordinate between day and night shifts

Organize and prioritize the Maintenance Technicians’ workload and projects using a standardized work order system
-
Assess the performance of each Maintenance Technician and plan skill development for each team member
-
Review and verify work order completion with internal customers, including Production and Shift Managers, Quality, and Print departments
-
Enhance the current preventative maintenance system
-
Analyze downtime, perform root cause analysis of repetitive repairs, and act as a technical troubleshooting resource
-
Manage parts inventory by implementing bar coding and organization systems to ensure accuracy, and monitor critical facility equipment
-
Contact local vendors for machine break downs and repair services, and requisition spare parts
-
Oversee contractors for facility work, equipment modifications, project standards and cost management
-
Maintain facility and grounds, including seasonal buildings and grounds maintenance
-
Communicate projects and priorities to plant leadership
-
Support the Quality Management System process: Maintenance PR-09
- Attend Plant Leadership Team meetings as necessary, and communicate and motivate team members
-
Manage maintenance budget, projects, inventory, headcount and labor costs
-
Collaborate with Purchasing to select vendors for projects and negotiate contract terms
-
Communicate project status including actual versus budget and timelines for new equipment start up
-
Upgrade equipment for speed, quality, resin unloading and product enhancements
-
Work with local utility companies for plant related problems
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Operational Support
-
Ensure OSHA regulatory compliance for plant standards, participate in the Safety Committee and promote safety
-
Maintain compliance with environmental, health and safety reporting requirements, including Haz Mat and Storm Water Management
-
Work with operators, sales, quality, and manufacturing for machine and equipment concerns
-
Develop, coordinate, and deliver training for new and existing equipment
-
Organize vendor training sessions on new equipment for operators and maintenance personnel
-
Monthly management of VOC database to ensure accuracy with MSDS as inks change
-
Review wastewater monitoring as per city inspection requirements and manage the Industrial User Permit
-
Annual operational conditional permit meeting with state enforcement
- Submit State operating certificate as required by state

Submit bi-yearly plant water usage to city
Education

Bachelor of Science, Engineering or related field
Experience
