We are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented professional to join our team. At Urban Air, the General Manager (GM) is a high-level leader who will build strong a strong team while working in a fast-paced, exciting environment. The GM motivates, instills accountability, and achieves results to drive success at the location while maintaining our culture of safe, affordable family entertainment! The GM provides leadership, supervision, and direction on strategic initiatives and operating standards to positively impact business results.
The GM is expected to provide training to other managers in every nuance of the business to ensure team members have all the resources and knowledge they need to ensure success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Guests: Consistently meet high standards for guest experience (quality of operations).
- Deliver an unparalleled guest experience through the best combination of food, drinks, attractions, and games in an ideal environment for celebrating all out fun.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment for all Urban Air guests and staff.
- Continuously improve operational execution through attention to detail and adherence to Urban Air operating standards and philosophies.
People: Hire, train, retain, and develop the team.
- Love people!
- Cultivate a team environment that provides exceptional guest service while directing and developing team managers and ensuring all staff members are performing at their best.
- Ensure execution of all staff training and compliance programs for all employees at the location.
- Ensure staffing levels and management coverage is appropriate to meet the needs of the business and maximize the guest experience.
- Lead and influence the team through effective motivation, leveraging individual strengths to ensure guest satisfaction and maximum productivity.
- Develop and ensure execution of all employee recognition and incentive programs.
- Promote positive employee relations including effective delegation of managerial duties, fostering high staff morale, upholding operation standards, and execution of the performance management process.
Sales: Grow the business.
- Set team goals with benchmarks and timelines and hold staff accountable for achieving departmental goals.
- Capitalize on business opportunities in the market area by executing location-specific marketing strategies to drive sales.
- Develop and maintain a strong, local presence through partnerships with community and business organizations.
- Pro-actively seek out opportunities to optimize food and beverage sales.
Profits: Optimize financial results (drive location sales and control costs).
- Responsible for all aspects of the operation including entertainment, food, beverage, equipment, and property to facilitate the fulfillment of financial goals and site initiatives.
- Analyze financial reports and develop action plans to grow revenue and control costs in order to meet or exceed the annual budget.
- Maintain systems which ensure overall fiscal responsibility for inventory, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum Education: Associates degree; BA, BS preferred, High School Diploma acceptable with adequate experience.
- Minimum Experience: 5 years of family entertainment, hospitality, restaurant and/or event/venue management experience required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving, decision-making, conflict management, and customer service skills required.
- Organization skills and proven ability to lead, supervise, and coach fellow team members required.
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and navigating the Internet.
- Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends a must.
- Understanding of marketing strategies, including common social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, SnapChat, etc.
