Job Position: Continuous Improvement Manager
Job Location: Stone Mountain, GA (not a remote role)
Reports To: Plant Manager
Job Summary:
WinCup is a leading manufacturer of disposable polystyrene cups, bowls, containers, straws, and lids.
The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for identifying and delivering improvement activity across the business through employing process improvement methodologies and the application of innovative thinking.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- To work with key STM stakeholders, to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing program of change.
- To lead and facilitate LEAN/process improvement based workshops to drive ideas and solutions. Drive improvements in multiple languages using Interpreters as needed.
- To support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary paperwork within business processes and identification of better ways of working.
- To identify trends and process variations as part of establishing a continuous improvement monitoring system.
- To assist in the development and implementation of a ‘best-in-class’ continuous improvement strategy.
- To take ownership of change initiatives from evolution/efficiency identification through to project delivery via internal governance and controls.
- To elicit requirements and drive process change using staff interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, and workflow analysis.
- To work with other team members and other departments to devise new support material based on the revised processes, to include training, reporting and systems enhancements.
- To actively monitor project risks to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address in advance.
- To ensure the business impact and project objectives/dependencies are identified, reported on and managed at all times.
- To set up a program, deliver coaching and run project jurisdiction.
- To complete post implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery has been achieved and to ensure that improvements can be made for future project.
- Supports all current and new product demands.
- Works with all other departmental areas to maintain productivity and plant initiatives.
- Partners with STM leadership to ensure team collaboration including training methods that leads plant productivity. May participate in required audits.
- Follows WinCup Values, follows company procedures, GMP, and other related safety standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
- Ability to follow directives with STM leadership, managers, supervisors, in ensuring productivity and target levels are sustained.
- Ensures all company policies and procedures including manufacturing and safety policies and procedures are followed at all times.
- Collaboration with plant and safety leadership.
- Ability to complete mandated new manufacturing training on equipment to maximize output efficiencies.
- Supports all current and new product introductions.
Education and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in business.
- 10 years management experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of statistics, data collection, and analysis.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Proven experience with Six Sigma.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English in order to complete job specific paperwork.
- Ability to work independently and function as a team member.
- Good planning and organizing skills.
- Work mandatory overtime, early morning, late evenings and weekends when required during busy season, inventory, and for vacation coverage.
Physical Demands:
- In-doors in a manufacturing and/or environment that is not air-conditioned.
- Wear PPE while working which includes hairnet, hearing protection and safety glasses with side guards.
- May work 8 hour shift or 12 hour shift that begins at 6:50 a.m. for dayshift or a nightshift that begins 6:50 p.m.
- Required to work weekdays, weekends and overtime as needed.
Working Conditions:
- Work 8 or 12-hour shift while standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, grasping and lifting throughout the entire shift.
- Requires the manual movement of cases of finished goods and other objects such as bagger film that weight up to 40 pounds.
- 100% tobacco free workplace on all Company premises. Designated outside smoking area provided and must be followed.
