We provide comprehensive HIV/AIDS, mental health and substance abuse-related social services to under-served racial and ethnic minority communities in the borough.
JOB SUMMARY:
B.A.C is looking for a highly motivated Maintenance Worker to join our team. Our team prioritizes providing shelter to individuals with chronic medical conditions, mental health conditions, a history of substance use, young parents, as well as those who have been homeless or formerly incarcerated. The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for maintenance for our Supportive Housing Unit.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Change locks and provide copies to all necessary parties (typically client, Case Manager, Property Manager, and Housing Manager).
· Assist with client move-ins and relocations.
· Performs heavy-duty cleaning and sanitation of newly acquired and newly vacant apartments.
· Measure and install window blinds in newly acquired vacant apartments
· Identify more complex repairs that must be completed by superintendents, building managers, and landlords.
· Identified as BAC Driver, adheres strictly to all policies and procedures related to being designated as a BAC driver and manages the maintenance of the Housing Department's van and ensures its cleanliness and sufficiency of gas.
· Assembles and repairs furniture.
· Transports either cargo, agency staff, or clients from one location to another.
· Performs other duties as directed by the Senior Maintenance Worker, Property Manager or Program Director.
· Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· NYS Driver’s license with at least two year's clean motor vehicle
· Use initiative, discretion, and judgment within established procedures, guidelines, and rules.
· Great interpersonal and communication skills.
· Excellent time management skills, ability to multitask, and maintain schedule while responding to incidents.
· Knowledge of health and safety standards and the ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely.
· Physically able to lift 50 pounds and walk up at least 4 flights of stairs with or without accommodation.
· Experience working with supportive housing a plus.
EDUCATION:
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
WORK EXPERIENCES:
Minimum of 2 years of apartment maintenance experience or relevant experience required.

Pay: $18.54 - $19.24 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 35 per week
