Qualifications:
· BA in human services with one to three years of experience or a high school diploma with two to three years of experience in the human services field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Responsibilities:
§ Participates in the annual Individual Service Plan (ISP) process for each of the program’s residents in accordance with state and agency ISP planning policies and procedures.
§ Assists with the implementation of the weekly teaching/training schedule and ensures that staff follows this teaching/training schedule in order to ensure that ISP goals and objectives are being addressed and that anticipated outcomes are being monitored and met.
§ Participates in the review of the House Rules at least annually.
§ Completes all reports and documentation as assigned and as required by NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) and in accordance to NJCDC/ Hawthorne Heights Standard Operating Procedures. Ensures that all reports and documentation is completed in a thorough, accurate, and timely manner.
§ Assists with the arrangement and coordination of the residents’ transportation, either through the use of agency vehicles, or, where appropriate, by ensuring that residents can safely use para and/or public transportation, either alone or accompanied by program staff. Also, responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the program vehicle, maintaining a vehicle log that keeps track of the vehicle’s use, reporting repair needs, and ensuring that emergency items (as per DDD licensing standards) are in the vehicle at all times.
§ Completes staff performance evaluations for Residence Counselors and volunteers in coordination with the Assistant Director of Residential Operations.
§ Assists with the monthly Resident Medication Preparation Process including reviewing received medications and documents, compiling medical documentation sheets, ordering medications, returning medications, etc.
§ The Assistant Manager is responsible to develop the weekly staff schedule assigning staff to fulfill the required shift responsibilities, tasks, and projects.
§ Assists with the arrangement and coordination of resident medical appointments including scheduling, assigning staff to attend and attending as needed or assigned. Communicates with residents’ medical providers.
§ Conducts Emergency Evacuation Drills (fire drills) in accordance to DDD licensing standards and that program residents are evacuated within the required time frame.
§ Ensures that all program staff are aware of emergency incident report and internal incident report protocol.
§ Participates in the emergency on-call schedule rotation.
§ Coordinates Tenant House Meeting, as well as self-advocacy meetings as assigned. Participates in other resident meetings as assigned by management.
§ Ensures that confidential records are complete, accurate, easily accessible, and filed in a secure place.
§ The Assistant Manager is responsible for maintaining communication with all program staff as assigned and necessary. The Assistant Manager shall participate in program staff meetings. The Assistant Manager shall also participate in agency-wide staff meetings, department-wide staff meetings, and any other meetings as assigned by management.
§ The Assistant Manager in coordination with the Assistant Director of Residential Operations oversees the physical condition of the residence, and ensures the cleanliness of the overall facility, resident apartments, common areas, the staff offices, and the grounds. As required performs light housekeeping duties and directs staff to perform light housekeeping duties as necessary (including, but not limited to, sweeping, wiping countertops and tables, shoveling snow,, placing trash cans at curbside, changing light bulbs, etc.. Conducts a full inspection (walk-through) of the residence once per week.
§ Assists in the planning for new residents moving into the program, including reading records and completing evaluations to determine appropriateness of potential program residents, as well as ensuring that all pre-admission records are in place according to DDD licensing standards prior to the move-in date.
§ Assists in new program development, including attending planning meetings, reviewing resident files, etc.
· Will cooperate with the Department of Human Services staff in any inspections and investigations.
§ Serves in an on-call (24-hour) capacity approximately one week per month as part of a rotating schedule.
§ Provides emergency residential shift coverage during staff shortages at times when management so directs.
§ Other duties as assigned.
Training Requirements:
§ Completes required training in Overview of Developmental Disabilities, Medication Management, and Prevention of Abuse and Neglect.
§ Maintains certification in CPR and Standard First Aid. Renews CPR and First Aid certifications in accordance to DDD licensing standards.
§ Completes physical examination and Mantoux screening prior to hire,
§ Maintains valid driver’s license
