Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist will support the daily functions of the People department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Essential Functions
Onboarding:
- Setup/Confirm accuracy on new employee setup within HR system
- Enter all new additions on bi-weekly payroll change form to be maintained by HR and forwarded to Finance prior to each pay date
- Review I-9 compliance daily and complete the employer section for each new hire
Terminations:
- Manage employee terminations.
- Enter all terminations on bi-weekly payroll change form to be maintained by HR and forwarded to Finance prior to each pay date.
Manage & Maintain:
- Garnishments
- Leave Requests
- Rewards and Recognition tracking
- Referral Program tracking
- Manage employee PTO/Vacation/Sick hours
- Assist with Merit Increases
- Assist with relocation changes/compensation
- Maintain Company Hierarchy to ensure reports are accurate and management has visibility for reporting
- Manage eligibility for new hires for Benefits to ensure deductions
- Field questions from employees on specific benefits questions as needed
- Manage eligibility for 401K benefits ensure deductions
- Send Finance monthly Union Reporting details
- Enter all changes/modifications from prior pay period on bi-weekly payroll change form to be maintained by HR and forwarded to Finance prior to each pay date.
- Assist Finance with employee compensation discrepancies when involving an overpayment and repayment plan
- Manage Workers Compensation cases to fruition
- Perform quarterly audits of demographic data for EEO reporting
- Prepare and send separation letters upon employee separation from the company
- Review Progressive Discipline materials for accuracy and litigation avoidance while assisting managers with the discipline process
- Manage employee questions and complaints up to resolution
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education
- High School Diploma or GED required, or equivalent working experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
Required Experience
- Minimum of five years with HR Generalist experience
Required Skills
- Proficient in English; verbally and written
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with a proven track record of meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
- Exceptional attention to detail and able to multitask in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
