OPERATIONS MAIL CLERK

REPORTS TO: Manager - Operations
POSITION SUMMARY:
The position controls the day to day mailroom activities and functions. This includes gathering, opening, sorting, preparing and distributing postal and interoffice mail. The Operations clerk also handles some light courier work, and general office support duties.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred
- Good sorting and organizational skills
- Basic knowledge of computer operation as well as the ability to operate other types of office equipment
- Ability to handle tasks requiring substantial repetition
- Must be able to lift heavy objects – up to fifty pounds
- Maintain reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Ability to manage the mail room schedule and meet deadlines
- Must show initiative, reliability and team orientated attitude
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the daily functions of the mailroom in an orderly fashion as to facilitate efficient processing
- Retrieve, open and deliver incoming postal/interoffice mail to various Bank locations
- Accumulate and prepare outgoing interoffice mail for courier delivery
- Collect, process and deliver outgoing mail to the post office
- Prepare one-time, or special, shipments and deliveries as necessary
- Provide light courier services between Bank administration buildings and some branch locations
- Envelope stuffing of daily customer notices
- Shred documents provided - including various reports and customer checks
- Assist with the coordination and movement of various supplies on an as needed basis
- Successfully complete training programs as necessary
- Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisor

BANK SECRECY ACT (BSA)
Before assuming any duties, each employee will be trained in the proper filing and logging procedures for large currency transactions and the sale of monetary instruments.
Each employee will immediately report suspicious currency transactions or activity to their immediate supervisor or the BSA Officer.
All employees will become familiar with how their customers handle their accounts and will report any transactions that are not within the normal activities of the customer.
The employee will be trained in compliance with the BSA, USA PATRIOT ACT and associated laws and regulations under the Bank’s Compliance Program as it pertains to his or her job functions. Employees are expected to meet all compliance requirements as stated within the Bank’s BSA/AML/CIP/OFAC Program. Failure to meet these compliance standards may adversely affect performance appraisals and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. Employee’s compliance violations may result in termination, individual fines, and possible imprisonment.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
