Job Summary
The Margaux School at Temple Judea is a national leader in Reggio and Judaic education for children ages 15 months to Prekindergarten. Due to high demand, the Margaux Early Childhood School at Temple Judea is hiring an innovative and collaborative Play Group Teacher Leader for the 2024-25 school year to coordinate our program expansion for children ages 15 months to two years old. As a Teacher Leader, you will be responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Play Group curriculum and related assessments. You will also be responsible for the safety and well-being of the children in your care, as well as the growth and development of your colleagues. This is a great first step in the pipeline to becoming a Preschool Assistant Director.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the Play Group initiatives across the Age Group including common planning time, professional development and resource management.
- Serve as a “lab-site” classroom for adult learning and experimentation.
- Serve on the Teacher leadership team with the Preschool Director, Pedagogista, Atelierista and Director of Education to set school policy, budgeting and hiring.
- Revise and implement a Reggio-inspired curriculum that is aligned with the Jewish values of our school.
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
- Provide small and large group experiences for children.
- Document children's learning and development.
- Communicate with families about their child's progress.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive and supportive work environment.
- Attend a month annually of cutting-edge professional development opportunities to stay up to date on the latest trends in early childhood education.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field.
- At least four years of experience working in early childhood classrooms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to providing meaningful and intentional learning experiences for all children.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in working with families.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Reggio-inspired or other constructivist early childhood education philosophies.
- Knowledge of Jewish life, traditions and culture, as well as an ability to integrate these concepts appropriately into the program, environment and with staff.
- Master's degree in early childhood education or childhood development.
Benefits
- Competitive salary range of $51,000 to $70,000 based on experience and supplemental teaching opportunities (camp, after school, religious school).
