Do you want to be a part of a community dedicated to caring for others?
Are you dedicated, hardworking and compassionate?
First and foremost, we are here to have fun and help our residents enjoy their lives. What does that look like to you? Here's what it looks like for us:
We're looking for individuals that want to make a big impact in the lives of others. Our residents primarily have physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities and mental health struggles. Our goal is to provide a home-like environment and help them live their best, most independent lives. Some residents require more personal cares than others; for example, assistance showering, using the bathroom, getting dressed and moving from one place to another. For everyone's safety, we are a no lift facility and will give you all the tools you need to be successful. Other residents may not require physical care as much as emotional support and supervision in their day to day lives. Most of our residents have their medications given to them by staff.
Our staff work 24 hour shifts; this gives us the opportunity to provide consistent care to our residents. This means you will be clocked in from 8:30am until 10:00pm, then again the next morning from 6am-9am until your replacement arrives. The hours of 10pm-6am are paid at a flat rate and you are not expected to be awake.
Our staff is expected to maintain the households cleanliness, prepare and serve meals, and help the residents with tasks as outlined in their care plan. These tasks include bathing, dressing, incontinence care, and assistance with eating meals. Essentially, you will be living alongside them and providing for their daily needs. We have a maximum of 4 residents per house, never any more.
Enough of the boring stuff--let's get to the stuff we're more excited about, like getting our residents into the community. We have a mini van and small bus to transport our residents. We like to plan outings to local parks, walks in the community and on the trails in the area, meals at local restaurants, and so much more. We would love to include you! This summer we are planning baseball games, cook outs, longer trips (like the Dells!) and we are working on a membership with the Y to take the residents and staff.
Perks include meals while working (served family style), a private bedroom and bathroom with shower for staff use, weekly pay and on-call bonus (if you decide to be on the rotation). We're sweetening the deal just a bit and offering a $1,000 sign on bonus, paid out over your first year of employment. Starting pay is $15 per hour and we do pay weekly via direct deposit.
No experience? That's ok! We encourage everyone to apply and will provide all the training you need.
