JOB SUMMARY
The Physical Therapist works within their Ethical Scope of Practice at all times, follows all State and Federal laws pertaining to healthcare delivery; completes evaluations, treatments and documentation in a timely manner; works cooperatively with team members, all internal and external customers and strives to positively represent their discipline and their company in the community.
Job Duties:
Evaluations
- Provide evaluations as ordered by a physician and obtain insurance verification/authorization before initiating the eval.
- Complete evaluations within a timely manner of receiving the physicians order, or place a note in the chart stating reasons for delay in initiation of the eval.
- Obtain a clarification order or physician’s signature per facility and payor protocol.
Treatment
- Provide treatment as ordered by a physician.
- Ensure that insurance authorization has been obtained prior to treatment.
- Provide treatment appropriate to eval findings and within the professional scope of practice and individual level of expertise.
- Update treatment plans as needed to meet desired outcomes.
- Include staff and family caregiver training in treatment plans as appropriate.
- Instruct Physical Therapy Assistants in needed protocols of treatment for each patient.
- Instruct rehab aides to carry out appropriate duties to support the provision of Physical Therapy.
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants as per scope of practice/licensure guidelines.
- Communicate regularly and as needed to other team members and on-call therapists re: patient care issues.
- Ensure a discharge order is obtained at the conclusion of Physical Therapy. services unless the patient is discharged from the facility.
- Coordinate scheduling issues with team members and the staffing coordinator as needed.
- Manage time and prioritize responsibilities to meet productivity expectations
- Provide only such treatment as allowed by the PT Board. If the condition of the patient requires skills not possessed by the Physical Therapist, the PT must refer the condition to an appropriate practitioner or physician.
Education:
The Physical Therapist must have graduated from accredited program of Physical Therapy accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) or an equivalent program if trained in a country other than the US.
Licensure:
A Physical Therapist must possess a current, valid PT license or documentation from the PT Board of CA that they may temporarily practice as a licensed applicant. Any current disciplinary actions taken against that license must be reported to the supervisor and may result in loss of ability to work depending on the seriousness of the action.

Pay: $53.00 - $60.00 per hour
