Seeking ABA Therapist/Behavior Technician/RBT/ Tutor of learners with disabilities/ Paraprofessional

Behaviors of NYC provides 1 to 1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services throughout New York City, in the home, community, and school settings. We offer: assessments, skill acquisition training, social skills training, behavior management, conducting Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), implementing behavior plans, community training, pre-vocational training, parent training and ongoing staff training and supervision.
Our mission is to work with each child and his or her family members to create the best possible outcome for everyone.We are looking for caring, passionate, and dedicated professional ABA therapists to provide 1 to 1 ABA services for children of all ages with Autism, under the guidance of a BCBA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy in the school setting from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM for a 19-year-old non-verbal learner with autism.
- Implement behavior intervention plans developed by a BCBA to address aggression and self-injurious behavior.
- Collaborate effectively with school personnel, including teachers, therapists, and administrators, to support the learner's educational and behavioral goals.
- Implement positive behavior supports to increase positive behaviors and social skills within the school environment.
- Maintain regular communication with school staff to ensure consistency in behavior management strategies and interventions.
- Attend team meetings and provide updates on the learner's progress and behavior as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that respects and celebrates individual differences.
- Demonstrate resilience in managing severe problem behaviors and adapt behavior plans as necessary to ensure the learner's safety and progress.
- Attend professional development trainings as necessary
Qualifications:
- Energetic, passionate, goal-oriented professional committed to making a positive impact.
- Experience with managing aggressive or self-injurious behavior
- Arrive on time and prepared for therapy sessions with a proactive approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, current enrollment in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Six months or more of experience in ABA therapy or working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder preferred.
*A valid driver's license and proof of car insurance with a good driving record is preferred*

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
