The Sanitation Associate is expected to work with the sanitation team to ensure and maintain cleanliness of the facility. The ability to perform the following but not limited to: heavy cleaning duties: cleaning floors, walls, ceilings, equipment, and any other items that are present in the production area(s). Duties also include breaking down and/or reassembling equipment, reporting broken or missing parts, performing post-operational inspections and securing the building for closure at night. This role will work primarily on an off-shift but may work any shift as necessary.
- Disassemble and clean the production areas.
- Re-assemble equipment once clean
- Ensure all parts, bolts, nuts, washers, etc. are accounted for. If missing, replace and document the equipment, part and etc.
- Ensure rooms and equipment are clean and ready for the follow day’s preoperational inspection.
- Follow GMPs and sanitation procedures.
- Perform documentation (i.e. Master Cleaning Schedule, etc.) as required.
- Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
- Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, per specifications.
- Move heavy equipment or supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks.
- Monitor building security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors after operating hours
- Clean laboratory equipment, such as glassware or dishes using solvents, brushes, etc.
- Fully completing paperwork/documentation as instructed
- Follows instructions per manager’s request.
- Decisions must be accurate to ensure safety of employees.
- Recommends replacement and acquisition needs.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as required
Requirements:
- GMP’s, Food safety, Food contaminants, Sanitation
- Provide sanitation support of equipment to include mixers, pumps, depositors, etc.
- Protect support equipment to include printers, metal detectors, thermometers, scales, etc.
- Environmental standards and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of methods, materials, equipment and tools as assigned.
- Familiarity with hazards and safety practices in area of assignment.
- Prepare clear and concise reports and memos.
- Maintain files and records & maintain inventories.

Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a Production environment, but infrequently visits warehouse environment. The employee will work in areas exposed to cold/hot temperature extremes and production activities to include but not limited to production machinery, assembly operations, and forklift traffic. The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to workplace hazards.
