port to the fund accounting line of the business, servicing private equity, hedge funds, crypto and venture capital funds and investors. This position may also be assigned audit functions as determined by the senior manager. Ideal candidates will meet the prerequisite job knowledge, skills and education as described below, and possess some work experience or exposure to public accounting, tax accounting or fund/portfolio accounting. *The Role*
The Manager of Fund Accounting is responsible for managing the activities of multiple clients as assigned; and overseeing the senior and staff accountants to ensure that the client needs are being met and tasks are being delegated appropriately. The position is responsible for reviewing work, providing guidance and training, and assisting with the monitoring and assessment of current processes and procedures. In addition, the Manager of Fund Accounting manages sophisticated reporting and communications for hedge fund clients and fund managers. This is a hybrid remote role meaning that managers will be required to report to the office at least three or more days out of the week.
*Duties*
* Perform and review the accounting, financial reporting, investor reporting and cash management operations of hedge funds and private equity funds
* Prepare and review portfolio accounts, valuation, fee calculations and security pricing
* Hire, train, coach and manage assigned staff member(s)to provide and effectively meet and maintain assigned clients’ recurring fund administration tasks
* Build and maintain positive client relationships, as well as with service providers that work with clients
* Manage the accounting responsibilities related to the implementation of new funds
* Work directly with clients to agree on services to be performed, based on an understanding of Trident’s service agreements with them and the controlling documents for the funds/entities
* Monitor and evaluate current processes and technology, and work with peers and senior management to improve and gain efficiencies
* Maintain principal books and records in accordance with GAAP
* Scope out new engagements and special projects for existing clients
* Prepare and review statistical analyses of stock basis, profit and loss, and intercompany accounts for a variety of transactions
* Onboard and assist new clients with structuring, local regulatory applications and fund documentation
* Respond to ad hoc requests from clients
* Coordinate audits of all funds, including preparation of audited financial statements and footnotes, as well as with the fund’s(s’) annual audit
* Attend industry events on a regular basis (for example SEHFA and ACG Atlanta) and build an industry network
* Complete other duties as assigned by management and/or the Senior Manager or VP of Fund Accounting
*Qualifications & Experience*
* Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or other related discipline required; master’s degree preferred
* Three to five (3-5) years’ related experience
* Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
* One to three (1-3) years of supervisory experience
* Firm understanding of GAAP, specifically as it relates to fund accounting
* Excellent verbal and oral communication skills, along with a clear, easy-to-understand oral communication ability
* Manual dexterity to operate a computer and general office equipment
* Correctable vision and hearing
* Experience with Advent Geneva, QuickBooks and relevant, with ability to learn new software as needed
* Microsoft Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)
*Key Skills and Abilities *
* Ability to complete and review complex calculations such as fund NAV calculations, waterfalls/investor allocations, and other various calculations
* Ability to effectively manage team and provide guidance and support where needed
* Ability to properly delegate work to ensure deadlines are being met
* Ability to effectively communicate with clients, third-party service providers and internal personnel
* Excellent problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
* Attention to detail, self-management and the ability to effectively prioritize workload and tasks
* Ability to travel to attend industry events
* Ability to function in high-pressure situations and meet strict deadlines consistently
* Excellent interpersonal skills – Ability to read, write and speak English
* Ability to lift up to 25 pounds in a safe and prudent manner and move with ease throughout a high-rise building complex
*Compensation *
