POSITION SUMMARY:
The Test Engineer will provide testing services for a variety of key customer-facing and internal applications as well as comprehensive test analysis and expertise to the project teams. They will assist with the successful development and implementation of Engineering solutions to project requirements. They will demonstrate foundational level knowledge in all areas of QA test planning, test development, test execution and defect management. They will provide training and guidance pertaining to all areas of QA testing to less experienced Test Engineers.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES, but not limited to:
- Actively participates with fellow employees to achieve company goals.
- Participates in conducting training for new team members.
- Defines test scope, test scenarios, and test cases, as well as identifying the required test data, and test tools.
- Writes test plans and test cases that cover all aspects of product testing.
- Creates estimates for test preparation and execution.
- Executes test cases based on the test plan, using appropriate test tools and frameworks.
- Identifies and reports product defects and verifies fixes.
- Verifies test metric data that provides relevant and timely information on testing progress, test results, and software quality metrics to project managers and managers.
- Identifies and implements best practices to improve the testing process, test tools, and testing methodologies to enhance test efficiency, effectiveness, and coverage.
- Actively participates in group discussions and/or meetings that achieve targeted results efficiently.
- Communicates with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and executives to raise risks/issues and collaborates on mitigation and corrective plans.
- Has knowledge of multiple test methodologies including Waterfall, Adaptive, Agile Scrum, and Kanban.
- Experience and knowledge of automated testing and database/SQL skills are highly preferred.
- Expands technical skills and knowledge base and leverages opportunities for growth for professional development and certification.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or an associate degree with an equivalent combination of education and experience in a computer-related or Automotive Technology field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Software Test Engineer.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to conduct training for individuals or small groups.
- Expert industry and domain knowledge/experience/skills testing products and working with technologies pertaining to Noregon’s business and/or other highly valued skills as determined by management (for example, test automation, simulation, database skills, etc).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires on and off-site vehicle testing. This includes the ability to enter heavy-duty trucks and gain access to various engine components as needed, in addition to standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, bending, and stooping as necessary.
- Sitting for extended periods of time and extensive computer usage are required.
- Talking, hearing and close vision abilities are required.
- Ability to occasionally lift 50 pounds is required.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional local, domestic, and international travel may be required, <15%
- Own transportation is required for local travel.
