Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our clinic, the Veterinary Receptionist plays a crucial role in ensuring positive client experiences and efficient operations. The ideal candidate must excel in multitasking, possess strong organizational skills, and have a genuine love for both animals and people.
Duties:
- Greet clients and visitors with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage the veterinary clinic's calendar.
- Coordinate patient intake and discharge processes, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Assist veterinary staff with medical records management and filing.
- Educate clients on basic animal care procedures and protocols.
- Handle payments, invoicing, and financial transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of office and clinic supplies.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a receptionist in a veterinary clinic or similar environment.
- Proficient in multitasking and managing competing priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with clients and staff.
- Knowledge of animal husbandry practices and basic medical terminology.
- Familiarity with medication and vaccination protocols.
- Excellent customer service skills and a positive, friendly demeanor.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a cohesive team.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
