Job Title: Finance and Operations Manager - Video Game Industry

Committed to innovation and creativity, we are seeking a Part- Time Finance and Operations Manager to lead our financial and operational functions, ensuring efficient processes and strategic decision-making to drive our continued success.
Responsibilities:
Lead Finance and Operational Functions:
- Manage finance and operational functions for multiple indie companies within the video game industry.
- Uphold upward management of deadlines and tasks with the CEO for execution, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.
Financial Management:
- Oversee the full cycle accounting process, including payroll, accounts payable/receivables, collections, billing, and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare profit and loss statements, monthly closings, and cost accounting reports.
- Generate Pro Forma Financials to support business planning and decision-making.
- Prepare quarterly budget reports and cash flow forecast reports.
- Prepare and analyze royalty reports to ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Track and report revenue from the distribution of video game digital goods on various platforms such as Steam, Nintendo, Meta VR, PlayStation, Mobile (Apple iOS and Android).
- Manage ad revenue reporting from various Ad Networks, analyzing performance and optimizing revenue streams.
Vendor and Relationship Management:
- Effectively manage vendor relationships to optimize costs and service quality.
Tax and Compliance:
- Coordinate with external CPA during tax preparation season and prepare W2s and 1099s.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to employment eligibility verification and reference checks.
Operational Optimization:
- Oversee and optimize operational processes, workflows, and resource utilization across departments.
- Collaborate with department heads to streamline operations and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Human Resources Management:
- Manage all aspects of finance, operations, and human resources, including recruitment, selection, interviewing, and hiring processes.
- Facilitate the completion of necessary contractual paperwork for new employees and manage salary negotiations.
Strategic Decision-Making:
- Collaborate with senior executives in strategic decision-making, business planning, and risk assessment.
- Assist in financial due diligence for potential mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, or investments.
- Assess and advise on the financial feasibility and profitability of new projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience in finance and operational management, preferably within the video game industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Reliable and independently proactive, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
- Effective in time management, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and utilization of spreadsheets for financial analysis and reporting.
- Experienced in using accounting software, particularly QuickBooks Desktop Pro, for financial management and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
