Job Responsibilities
- Teach art techniques to students in a classroom setting, managing their work output in the classroom and behavior on a daily basis.
- Develop teaching and learning materials for use in class, including lesson plans, projects, and assignments that make use of all student skills.
- Modify lesson plans and materials as needed to make them suitable for students’ current learning levels.
- Monitor and track student progress and issue grades.
- Maintain relationships with parents and legal guardians of students in order to keep them informed of their child’s progress.
- Collaborate with other teachers to support classrooms topics with art.
- Ensure that students meet educational standards and school performance goals for their grade level.
Academy Teacher minimum requirements:
Be a practicing Roman Catholic as verified by a Pastor's Approval Form
Bachelor's degree (preferably in education) from an accredited college or University
Attainment or pathway to New York State Certification
Successful completion of a background check
Signed Code of Conduct
Diocese of Brooklyn VIRTUS training
Up to date Immunization record
Proof of citizenship
