Material Specialist
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Supply Chain Manager
Summary/Objective: Responsible for receiving merchandise into the facility and signing receipt ticket, unloading, or unpacking it, deliver to appropriate location and stocking shelves. This person works in stores, warehouses, stockrooms, and other storage facilities maintaining proper inventory counts. This position also has material planning responsibilities including shop order release and delivering materials to work centers; as well as making shipments.

- Receive materials in from outsource suppliers.
- Sign receipt tickets and deliver to accounts payable.
- Deliver materials to desired location
- Maintain inventory warehouse
- Performs physical inventory count as required
- Deliver components to the manufacturing line as required
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on demand or invoices.
- Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
- Plan and release shop orders
- Review daily picklist for shipments
- Pull parts from inventory or work order and package for shipment
- Transfer to shipping location
- Print pack list
- Gather required customer facing documentation
- Ship product to customer
- Package for Outside Service processing
- Process purchase orders for Outside Service
- Coordinate purchase order status with Outside Service suppliers
- Adhere to all safety requirements
- Understand and follow all 5S requirements
Competencies:
- Precision with products entering and delivered.
- Understanding of stocking locations and placement.
- Understanding of delivery locations.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal)
Work Environment: This job usually works in the warehouse section of the plant which has very little sound and vibrations.
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where loud sounds and vibrations are present. This may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Must be able to lift 50Ib boxes without assistance.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: The working hours for this position are typically 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. Business requirements can modify this schedule.
Travel: None required for this position
Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education and Experience: 1+ year experience in warehouse maintenance or equivalent experience.
