Research & Development Chemist
InfoSight Corporation, headquartered in Chillicothe, Ohio, is a global leader in the design and manufacture of custom asset identification and tracking machinery used in harsh industrial environments and currently has an exciting opportunity for a R&D Chemist to join our Employee-Owned team.
The Research & Development Chemist will be responsible for developing innovative coating and ink solutions for customers with unique asset identification needs in challenging environments. Applications can span from laser markable metal identification tags to stencil inks on a variety of substrates. A deep understanding of the interaction between our chemistry and our customers’ processes is critical to the success of this role. This position is an individual contributor and will report directly to the Vice President of R&D.
Job Responsibilities:
· Formulate laser markable coatings and inks for high temperature, corrosive, and other harsh environments.
· Develop lab scale tests to mimic customer processes for product qualification and troubleshooting.
· Lead new product development projects from inception through to commercialization.
· Provide technical support to both internal and third-party manufacturing, including new product scale up or existing product improvement and quality.
· Maintain our existing coating and ink product portfolio by identifying opportunities to improve performance and cost.
· Monitor industry trends to keep ahead of competition and disruptive technologies.
· Expand the company’s IP portfolio through patents and trade secrets, to create long-term competitive advantages.

Key Qualifications:
· Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry with a solid understanding of polymeric coating formulation and processing.
· Minimum 5 years of research and development experience for an industrial company.
· Deep understanding of a wide range of analytical chemistry techniques for material characterization
· Strong problem-solving and execution skills for developing creative solutions that meet or exceed customer requirements.
· Self-starting data driven problem solver with a proven track record of delivering project outcomes.
· Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
