Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

We have a part-time opportunity for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistance (COTA) - in Chandler, AZ. Clinic hours are M-F 7:30am-6:30pm and we offer flexibility with shift start/end times. Evening and weekend hours may be required depending on client needs.
Responsibilities:
- Treat pediatric patients in needs of occupational therapy based on occupational therapy evaluation and treatment plan.
- Educate and train clients/ parents/ caregivers on compensatory strategies, exercises/ stretching, sensory diets, ADL skills etc.
- Collaborate with other therapists and assistants
- Uses pediatric based behavior management strategies and matches diagnostic/therapeutic interventions to age and disability of children
- Preparation and participation in in-service training programs on regular basis
Qualifications:
- MUST BE A CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT IN THE STATE OF ARIZONA
- At least one year of experience working with children as a certified occupational therapy assistant preferred.
- Fingerprint clearance card. (can cover cost)
- In working with pediatric clients in clinical setting, have an interest in providing sensory based treatment, be passionate about their work, self-driven, creative, resourceful, always looking to learn and LOVE to work with children and their families
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial!
- This is an active job. You may have to lift and carry clients. You will be required to move with the client, which means you will be kneeling, squatting, standing, and sitting on the floor for extended periods of time. You will have to move quickly to ensure client's are safe.
