Job Overview
The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the dog grooming salon is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and functionality. This role involves regular maintenance checks, deep cleaning tasks, and managing repairs of salon equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, proficiency in handling tools and cleaning equipment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and preventive maintenance. This position plays a crucial role in providing a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for both staff and clients.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
· Perform weekly deep cleaning tasks, focusing on sanitation and hygiene maintenance.
· Manage monthly maintenance schedules for all salon equipment and infrastructure.
· Identify and address repairs directly and, if unable to perform the repair, coordinate with management for more complex issues.
· Maintain inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies, ordering new stock as necessary.
· Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations.
· Provide feedback and suggestions for improvements to salon maintenance procedures.
· Must satisfactory complete any SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) relevant to the position.
Qualifications
· Proven experience in maintenance, cleaning, or a related field.
· Maintain an understanding of OSHA regulations and safety trends.
· Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems.
· Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
· High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
Physical and Working Conditions
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
· Comfort with standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
· Prepared to work in environments with pet dander, excretions, and cleaning chemicals.
· Must be able to work in various areas of the salon, including grooming stations, bathing areas, and storage rooms.
