Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Montessori Upper Elementary Guide to join our team. As a Montessori Upper Elementary Guide, you will play a crucial role in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for our students. Your primary responsibility will be to guide and support students in their academic, social, and emotional development using the Montessori method.
Responsibilities:
- Implement the Montessori curriculum and create engaging lesson plans that align with the needs and interests of upper elementary students
- Provide individualized instruction and support to meet the unique learning styles and abilities of each student
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and independence
- Utilize various teaching strategies and materials to facilitate student learning across subjects such as math, language arts, science, history, geography, and physical education
- Incorporate hands-on activities, group discussions, and real-world applications to enhance student engagement and understanding
- Assess student progress through ongoing observation, informal assessments, and formal evaluations
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns or celebrations
- Provide guidance and mentorship to assistant teachers or classroom aides
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (required)
- Montessori certification for Upper Elementary (required)
- Previous experience working with children in a Montessori setting (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Montessori philosophy, principles, and materials
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Proficiency in curriculum development and lesson planning
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices
- Experience in education administration is a plus
