The Campagna Center is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Education Site Manager to join our team. Position Summary
The Education Site Manager works with the Early Childhood Program Management team to ensure that the overall school readiness goals are met for the program. This position supports the smooth and safe daily operations of assigned site(s) as well as supports all teachers. The Education Site Manager also works across program areas to help ensure that the program is providing services that are of the highest quality and are compliant with all federal, state, local and accrediting bodies’ rules and regulations.
Primary Responsibilities
· Ensures that early childhood education services are implemented in a high-quality manner to support school readiness for all children
· Participates in management team meetings as assigned and relevant to position responsibilities
· Supports curriculum implementation based on curriculum materials provided by program
· Reviews lesson plans weekly and assists staff on implementation of lesson plans; provides feedback as needed
· Supports inclusive classrooms and ensures that required modifications needed are made (including consultations with preschool special education staff from the Alexandria City Public Schools); attends monthly IEP meetings
· Works with staff and parents to ensure that children demonstrating delays or concerns are referred to appropriate resources
· Monitors child related referrals through monthly data system; communicates with teachers on the referral status during monthly meetings
· Ensures home visits and parent conferences are conducted through monthly monitoring
· Reviews monthly newsletters to ensure strong home-school connections
Transition Planning
· Designs and implements strategy to ensure smooth transition from Head Start into K12 system
· Participates in external partnership meetings with ACPSto facilitate transition planning and other efforts that address aspects ofeducation and disability services
Supervision/Professional Development for Teaching Staff
· Completes performance evaluation and professional development plans for assigned staff
· Maintains data on teacher/assistant teacher qualifications using a standard matrix
· Facilitates monthly teacher meetings within and/or across sites using web-based meeting platform; creates and uses a standard agenda for meetings
· Creates content for and conducts staff training as needed
Daily site operations
· Maintains daily sign-in sheet for substitutes and lunch break coverage providers
· Manage and supervise teachers/assistant teachers daily
· Manages planned leaves of absence; facilitates classroom coverage
· Manages unplanned leave notifications (call-outs) and facilitates classroom coverage; shares responsibility with counterpart on a two-week rotating schedule
· Submits site maintenance requests and communicates issue to Director, Preschool Programs and Services
· Serves as site representative for VDSS licensing visits, ACPS visits, fire inspections and health inspections
· Monitors all health and safety requirements for the site in accordance with VDSS, NAEYC Accreditation Standards and Head Start Performance Standards
· Utilizes standardized process for identifying health and safety issues using daily health and safety checklist
· Completes health and safety checklist associated with five-year grant
· Provides classroom coverage as necessary
Administrative/Other
· Ensures that requests for educational/classroom supplies are reviewed and submitted to the Director, Preschool Programs and Services for approval ina timely manner
· Compiles site data for monthly monitoring report related to education services (e.g., TSG observations, referrals)
· Compiles licensing site visit data for monthly report
· Acts as Teacher liaison by participating in panel candidate interviews
· Performs other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
· Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience successfully supervising teaching staff and designing curriculum approaches
· Knowledge of Head Start, Child Care Licensing, and/or NAEYC Accreditation
· Current First Aid and CPR Certification and valid Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation
· Proficiency in MS Office programs (especially Word and Excel)
· Experience using data management software (e.g. Child Plus, Teaching Strategies)
· Demonstrated commitment to accountability, data and measuring outcomes, and a results-oriented culture; demonstrates a high level of professional and personal integrity
· Strong interpersonal, supervision, administration, and management skills
· Ability to interact and communicate effectively with children, families, and staff at all levels from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
· 2-3 years of supervision experience
· Prior experience using Creative Curriculum for Preschool, Teaching Strategies and GOLD assessment, CLASS experience
