Job Summary:
Utilizes AutoCAD Civil 3D software to provide non-technical drafting support to engineers by preparing layouts, plan and profiles, and detail drawings. Has a solid understanding of drafting techniques. Possesses mechanical aptitude with ability to complete basic mathematical calculations. Must be able to understand verbal instructions from lead designer.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

Knowledge of Nation CAD standard and formats
-
Process basic verbal instruction from lead designer, EIT, PM or CAD Tech

Create Cover, HCER, Notes, & Details for all projects
-
Prepare Sheet Set per project and Print construction plans
-
Add Fields and Links to drawings
-
Preparing Alignments
-
Print Construction Plans
-
Address red line drawings as well as mark-ups
-
Follow company specific CAD standards for drawing setup, scaling, labeling, dimensioning

Label Plan & Profiles and Layouts with live labeling
-
Attend majority of Land Services Grub and Grows
-
Creates CAD drawings for site and land development, water and wastewater plants, utility districts, public works, transportation, and municipal department.

Creates plan and profile sheets and exhibits.
-
Creates and modifies map exhibits for special assignment.

Work with project team to execute projects on time and on budget.

Make corrections to the drawings as requested by the senior staff.

Sets up and maintains an organized file system for production drawings.

Other duties as required.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Ability to pay close attention to detail.

Excellent communications skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.

Skilled in PC usage and associated software.

Able to generate layout drawings from sketches and specifications.

Knowledgeable of standard drafting practices and procedures.

Education, certification and experience:
-
Must have strong understanding of AutoCAD (0-1 years).

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
