Overview:
As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a vital role in supporting student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills within the educational environment. Your responsibilities will include implementing approved curriculum, addressing individual student needs, creating a safe learning space, and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration.
Responsibilities:
- Implement Archdiocesan approved curriculum to facilitate student learning and development.
- Create a safe and conducive classroom environment for individualized and small group instruction.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to optimize learning experiences.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning and adjust teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Instruct students in various subjects while promoting responsible citizenship and adherence to school policies.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, achievements, and attendance.
- Encourage parental involvement in students' education and maintain effective communication with parents.
- Uphold school standards of behavior to foster a functional learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with colleagues to evaluate curriculum effectiveness and participate in faculty meetings.
- Utilize instructional aids and resources effectively for teaching purposes.
- Supervise students during activities outside the classroom, including transportation.
- Administer standardized tests as per school guidelines.
Skills:
- Proficiency in tutoring and childhood development techniques.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles.
- Experience in literacy education and special education practices.
- Ability to engage with children effectively and manage classroom dynamics.
- Strong skills in lesson planning and communication within the classroom setting.
Additional Duties:
- Conduct extracurricular activities or clubs that enhance student engagement.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Principal or school administrators.
