Overview:
The Amgen Bioprocessing Center (ABC) at Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) invites applications for a full-time, open-rank faculty position as Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Bioprocessing. The successful candidate will join the Henry E. Riggs School of Applied Life Sciences at KGI (Riggs) and will collaborate with other Master of Engineering (MEng) in Biopharmaceutical Processing faculty on teaching, research, curriculum development, new program development, and industry connections within the MEng Program. The level of appointment will be determined based on experience.

Education and Experience:
A strong academic background in Chemical/Biochemical/Biological/Biomedical Engineering or related disciplines is required. Ideal candidates should have a notable track record of scholarly achievements, including peer-reviewed journal publications, patents, and technical reports. Prior work experience in the biopharma/biotech industry is a plus, and postdoctoral experience with industry collaborations is highly desirable.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Individuals must possess knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position successfully, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions may be performed, with or without, reasonable accommodations, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
Teach courses related to introductory knowledge in bioprocessing, drug product processing (formulation/fill/finish), and emerging bioprocessing techniques and therapeutics
Actively participate in and advise students in the Capstone Team Design Project (TDP) and industry-sponsored Team Masters Project (TMP).
Develop a strong research program/portfolio in the emerging/advanced areas of biotech/biopharma. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, bioprocessing of monoclonal antibodies, cell therapeutics, gene therapeutics, and vaccines; quality and regulatory aspects in bioprocessing; and computer applications in bioprocessing.
Participate in an annual summer program aimed at introducing bioprocessing to undergraduates.
Ongoing contributions to service activities at KGI.
Perform other related duties and assignments as directed.
