The Office of the Governor is looking for a Systems Administrator (Systems Analyst IV) to work in the Information Services Division (ISD).

What You’ll Do
This is a job that performs highly complex (senior-level) computer systems analysis work involving analyzing and identifying user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems. Develops, implements, and tests solutions to complex technology problems. Work involves maintaining the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of systems. Installs and upgrades computer components and system software. Provides hardware and software support to agency users. Supports and provides user level service to agency users.
- Performs mid to senior-level systems administration tasks within ISD.
- Installs, configures, maintains, and administers computers, laptops, mobile devices, servers, operating systems, and applications.
- Analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves system hardware, software, and networking issues; and provides status reports to management.
- Analyzes new or existing procedures, information systems, or utility programs for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Tests and diagnoses systems to ensure that critical requirements are met.
- Designs, modifies, and implements new or revised systems to serve new purposes or improve workflow.
- Assists with the design, implementation, and operation of disaster recovery processes and systems.
- Researches, develops, and documents operating procedures for technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance.
- Studies existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness, and recommends new systems to improve production or workflow as required.
- Assists with managing the roles and access privileges of users and devices to a variety of applications to prevent unauthorized access.
- Cross-trains to provide backup to other systems administrators on critical agency systems.
- Performs information security operational processes and duties.
- Assists with Tier 1 and 2 support duties when needed.
- May evaluate and recommend action on testing and certification of system software and hardware upgrades.
How You’ll Qualify
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, management information systems, or a related field; and
- Four (4) years of professional experience in systems administration work.
Note: Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions
This classification functions in a standard office environment. Ability to move up to 30 Ibs. Ability to drive and travel as needed. Will need to move about the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, set up conference rooms for meetings, etc. Must be able to communicate and exchange accurate information via phone, computer and in person. Must be able to observe and evaluate data in a variety of formats, including hard copy, electronic and media formats. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Work with overlapping projects and deadlines. Work as a team member. Have direct customer contact. Work with sensitive and confidential information. Must be able to occasionally work hours that may include nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Must be able to participate in after-hours, weekend, and holiday on-call support duties (done on a rotating basis with other systems administrators). Must be able to support users remotely and in person.
