We are seeking a dynamic individual to join us as an Associate, Education Production at Carnegie Hall. This position serves as the primary production supervisor for a series of events as assigned, working directly with faculty, artists, and participants to produce classes, workshops, concerts and multi-day conferences at Carnegie Hall and throughout the five boroughs. In addition, this position will also involve work in collaboration with the Managers and Assistant Director on larger-scale projects.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Execute a set of Weill Music Institute events, including workshops, classes, rehearsals, and other events in the Resnick Education Wing at Carnegie Hall and offsite throughout New York City.
- Coordinate with artists, vendors, internal and external production staff, and partners to produce and manage events.
- Schedule and oversee rehearsals, lead production meetings; create and maintain production documents; manage equipment and instrument rentals
- Act as a liaison between WMI programming teams and internal or external venue management on assigned programs and projects.
- Collaborate with the Resnick Education Wing Operations and Carnegie Hall Production teams when producing onsite events.
- Coordinate guest lists and guest entry for assigned events.
- Ensure that space reservations, scheduling, catering, and ticketing are in order through collaboration with others on the Education Production team.
- Maintain all entries in Artifax for WMI’s offsite events and coordinate with Resnick Education Wing Operations on Artifax entries for all internal events.
- Manage WMI equipment and supply inventories.
- Support other members of the Education Production team with their assignments as required.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Stage management experience and a strong background in music, arts administration, and event production
- Knowledge of live audio, theatrical lighting and video playback
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, delegate tasks while working as part of a team, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Commitment to furthering the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the work
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office; Experience with Tessitura, Artifax, Diese, VectorWorks, AutoCad, ProTools or QLab a plus.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and travel as required
- Ability to lift at least 30lbs.
