The property features flexible meeting space, and the Jalao Restaurant. Guests can escape from the streets of New York City to the brightly colored paradise of the Dominican Republic while dining at Jalao. The Jalao Restaurant serves Dominican food in vibrant and cultural surroundings right in the heart of NYC’s Washington Heights Neighborhood.

Job Responsibilities
- To understand and respond to all guest needs and requests in a timely and professional manner.
- To oversee the proper and efficient preparation of food for all restaurants, employee meals, banquets, room service, and special functions, ensuring that quality and quantity standards are being met.
- To maintain a current computer listing of all scheduled business, including purveyors, deliveries, events, and menu changes.
- To inventory and supply storage areas as needed, to accommodate business needs.
- To follow all specified procedures to open or close the kitchen.
- To assume all duties of the Executive Chef in his/her absence.
- To properly document Personnel/Payroll transactions, as directed.
- To hire, train, schedule, support, review, and discipline Kitchen employees to maintain highest possible levels of employee morale and department productivity.
- To complete payroll reports and prepare final time-log for bi-monthly payroll.
- To follow all company policies and procedures.
- To immediately report all suspicious occurrences and hazardous conditions.
- To maintain the cleanliness and safety of work areas at all times.
- To conduct departmental safety training for all new Kitchen employees, before they begin to work
- Follow all company safety standards, including proper equipment handling to avoid injury to yourself and others.
- To attend all mandatory meetings as directed.
- To perform other tasks, including cross-training, as directed.
Essential Experience/Aptitudes:
- Fluency in English is required.
- Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have minimum two years prior hotel/kitchen experience, including one year supervisory experience.
- Familiar with OSHA, SB198, local Department of Health regulations, state liquor laws and relevant current laws governing handling of hazardous substance.

- Bends, stoops, reaches, pushes, and lifts to perform routine job tasks.
