COMPENSATION: 10 Month Secretarial Pay Scale
Note: Starting pay is based on 0-3 years of experience, meeting the minimum qualifications (i.e. HS / GED);
DATES TO APPLY: June 24, 2024 - July 8, 2024 or until position is filled
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent with training in business and/or office skills; Must demonstrate proficiency in filing, operating office equipment, use of word processing and data entry software, and keyboarding; Previous experience in clerical work is preferred.
REPORTS TO: School Principal
JOB SUMMARY: This work involves responsibility for ensuring the smooth flow of correspondence and attention to administrative action matters in office operations. Work is performed in accordance with accepted standards and techniques for secretarial assignments and with strict confidentiality.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Exhibit professional rapport with parents, students, and other Morehouse Parish School System employees.

Answer telephone inquiries in a friendly and efficient manner and direct inquiries to appropriate personnel.

Process, revise, and maintain forms required for documentation and record keeping, which is particular to the department assigned.

Demonstrate effective use of office machines, including computers, and efficient use of required software.

Maintain a regular filing system and properly maintain student and/or employee records with strict confidentiality.

Sort and allocate all mail delivered to the location/department.

Handle correspondence as directed by immediate supervisor.

When assigned, receive, record, and account for school/department monies.

Perform data entry duties involving students and /or employees according to particular assignments and current procedures.

Complete all assigned tasks promptly.

Maintain a neat, clean, and well-organized work area.

Show concern for responsibilities through regular attendance, punctuality in reporting to the worksite, and adherence to the schedule of breaks and lunch periods.

Attend in-service training when requested.

Be groomed and dressed professionally.

Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude toward others and fellow workers.

Perform all other duties as assigned by higher authority.
