PRIMARY PURPOSE:
- Your role as Content Marketing Coordinator will encompass a diverse range of responsibilities. You will lead editorial content planning and design innovative marketing strategies that align with our district's mission. Your creative talents will shine as you conceptualize and organize compelling stories, craft engaging narratives, and write both digital and print content. Additionally, you'll edit copy to perfection, optimize content for SEO/SEM, and monitor and analyze marketing metrics to ensure our communications are impactful and effective.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, public relations or related field.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Capable of creating compelling content optimized for various platforms.
- Knowledge of Associated Press style or other commonly accepted editing style guides.
- Able to simplify complex issues, create key messages and communicate in a method/manner appropriate for the target audience.
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas to help drive core performance indicators including brand awareness, reach and engagement.
- Proficiency in Google Ads, Google Analytics GA4 and Google Business, SEO/SEM and digital marketing strategies, tactics and trends.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus but not required.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years of professional experience in journalism, marketing or relevant communications field.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Create and maintain an editorial calendar including special observations, recurring marketing campaigns, promotion of district events, and celebration of campus/student/staff excellence.
- Craft engaging content showcasing noteworthy programs, events, accolades, and achievements.
- Conduct thorough research to ensure content is informative, compelling and correct.
- Collaborate with district departments and campuses to gather information and create advertising and communication plans from creative concepts to content creation, production, and follow-up reporting.
- Develop high-quality, impactful content for various target audiences and marketing channels, including website copy, blog posts, email campaigns, and copy for print and social media.
- Attend district and/or campus special events to capture digital content for related social media and/or story writing and publishing. (Occasional evenings and weekends.)
- Manage, analyze and optimize marketing campaigns, including search engine marketing (SEM/SEO), social media, email, display and paid advertising.
- Monitor and update Meta Business Suite, Google Business Profiles and other digital communication platforms (AYO).
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to ensure Mesquite ISD’s content is forward-looking and competitive.
