Key Results Area:
Entry-level position performing administrative duties to assist in the medical insurance billing process. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule after 90 days.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Handles communication and correspondence for assigned clients and outsource partners.
· Sorts and scans mail; addresses envelopes or packages. Stuffs envelopes by hand to prepare for mailing as needed.
· Entering information from medical charts into the computer system such as, but not limited to name, account number, date of birth, date of service, insurance, diagnosis and procedure codes, location and financial class, with 95% accuracy.
· Handles or oversees all revenue cycle management refunds for assigned clients.
· Work client bills when needed.
· Verify existing information in the computer system with at least 95% accuracy.
· Files completed charge batches according to file guidelines.
· Verifies that claims have been received via charge logs. Notifies management of any missing or incomplete data.
· May work error reports.
· Process refunds.
· Complies with all aspects of the Compliance Program. Maintains strict confidentiality of all patient information, as well abides by all Standards of Conduct and HIPAA regulations.
· Passes quarterly audits with a minimum score of 95%.
· Perform other duties as assigned, including special projects.
· Will take patient phone calls after 90 days of employment.
Education:
High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience required.
Experience:
Three to six months experience in a clerk or processing role, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous medical billing experience desired.

- Must have previous experience working with a high-volume of paperwork.
· Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with management, co-workers and patients.
· Ability to operate basic office equipment such as copier, fax, and calculator.
